THE BAKEHOUSE

This was a large scale project that entailed multiple elements. We worked closely with the architect on the initial round of items, a number of window boards and a staircase. The brief was to add some minimal contemporary elements to two buildings on the same site to aid a sense of consistency. The staircase was constructed entirely from plywood and then faced with the same engineered flooring as was used across the first floor, with solid oak nosings for each tread.

DESIGN | WOODWORK | INSTALLATION

The second phase of the project involved designing and making a number of bespoke furniture items. There was a dining table and banquette seating which fit around an unusual grade 2 listed chimney breast. A bench seat with shoe storage underneath, enabling it to also function as a cover with access to the underfloor heating manifold. We also adapted a design for a slimline vanity unit in one of the bathrooms. All of these items were made in solid character grade Oak and finished with either a hard wax oil, or water resistant varnish which was tinted to match the colour of the engineered flooring.
